Valerie Franklin
Valerie is the Program Administrator for Grace William Health Systems (GWHS), leading the development of the clinic and programs in Klamath Falls. Her responsibilities with GWHS include building a team of mental health professionals and support staff to provide clinical services and wellbeing programs to the Klamath community. Prior to taking the leadership role with GWHS, Valerie worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Klamath Community College Teaching Health, Nutrition, and Physical Education and held the role of Wellness Coordinator. Prior to her work at the college, Valerie worked at Sky Lakes Medical Center where she was a Program Manager, developing and delivering education and support services for Chronic Disease Programs and Tobacco Cessation. Valerie also has extensive experience in grant writing and grant management and will utilize those skills in her position as Program Administrator with GWHS.
Throughout her career, Valerie has pursued health and fitness through leadership, teaching, coaching, and training athletes. She is passionate about staying healthy and fit herself and shares her enthusiasm with others through instruction of classes such as yoga, Pilates, and strength training. Her experience and formal education were predominately in the field of Recreation Management and earlier in her career, she supervised large municipal recreation departments in California, managed a variety of health clubs, and coached numerous year-round sports programs. Valerie is a nationally certified swim and triathlon coach, a personal trainer, and a Life Skills instructor. She continues to teach health, nutrition, physical education, group exercise classes at the college in addition to her responsibilities with GWHS.
